WHEN NOTHING SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING

“God Is Still Working”

TODAY’S VERSE

“My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.” – John 5:17 NASB

TODAY’S QUOTE

God’s silence does not mean God’s absence. He may be doing His deepest work where you cannot yet see it.

TODAY’S MESSAGE

There are seasons when we pray, wait, obey, and continue trusting God, yet nothing seems to change. The door remains closed, the answer has not arrived, the situation looks the same, and we begin wondering whether God is doing anything at all.

Jesus reminds us that our Father is always working. We may not recognize His activity because God often works beyond what our eyes can see. While we are looking for visible results, He may be arranging circumstances, preparing people, developing our character, protecting us from the wrong opportunity, or preparing us for something we are not yet ready to carry.

Think about Joseph. Years passed between his dreams and their fulfillment. From Joseph’s perspective, there were moments when his circumstances seemed to be moving in the opposite direction of God’s promise. Yet the prison, the waiting, the forgotten years, and even the injustice became part of the path God used to position him for His purpose.

We often measure God’s activity by how quickly our circumstances change. God measures something deeper. He is interested not only in changing what is around us, but also in transforming what is within us.

If you are waiting today, do not assume nothing is happening. Continue praying. Continue obeying. Continue becoming the person God is calling you to be.

You may not see His hand yet, but you can still trust His heart.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

Identify one area where you feel God has been silent. Instead of asking only, “God, when will You change this?” also ask, “Lord, what are You developing in me while I wait?”

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. Where are you currently waiting for God?
  2. Why do we sometimes interpret waiting as inactivity?
  3. What might God develop in us through seasons of waiting?
  4. How can you remain faithful before you see the answer?

TODAY’S PRAYER

Heavenly Father, there are things I have prayed about that still have not changed, and there are moments when I wonder what You are doing.

Help me trust You even when I cannot see Your activity. Remind me that Your silence does not mean You have abandoned me and that waiting does not mean You have forgotten me.

Use this season to strengthen my faith, develop my character, and prepare my heart. Give me patience to wait, wisdom to recognize Your direction, and courage to continue obeying.

I trust that You are working even when I cannot see it.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
