STARTWITH GOD: “Before the Week Gets Busy”

START WITH GOD
“Before the Week Gets Busy”

TODAY’S VERSE

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:6 NASB

TODAY’S QUOTE

Do not ask God to fit into your plans. Begin with God and allow Him to direct your plans.

TODAY’S MESSAGE

Monday often begins with a long list of responsibilities. There are meetings to attend, assignments to complete, children to prepare, ministry responsibilities to handle, problems to solve, and decisions waiting for our attention. Before we realize it, we can begin the week running at full speed without first asking God where He wants us to go.

Proverbs reminds us to acknowledge God in all our ways. This means more than simply praying before a major decision. It means inviting God into our ordinary routines, conversations, schedules, relationships, and responsibilities. We recognize that we need His wisdom before we rely on our own understanding.

Starting with God does not guarantee that everything this week will happen according to our plans. There may still be interruptions, disappointments, delays, and unexpected changes. The difference is that when God is leading us, we do not have to face those moments alone.

Before you give this week your energy, give God your heart. Before checking everything that needs your attention, give your attention to Him. Let prayer become your first response rather than your last resort.

When God becomes the starting point, He also becomes the One who directs everything that follows.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

Before beginning your responsibilities today, spend ten uninterrupted minutes with God. Surrender your schedule, decisions, concerns, and expectations to Him.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. What usually receives your attention first at the beginning of the week?
  2. What does acknowledging God in “all your ways” look like practically?
  3. What decision do you need God’s wisdom for this week?
  4. How can you intentionally put God first every morning?

TODAY’S PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me another week and another opportunity to walk with You. Before I give my attention to everything that needs to be done, I choose to give my heart and attention to You.

Direct my thoughts, decisions, conversations, and responsibilities. Keep me from depending only on my own understanding. When unexpected situations arise, remind me that You are already there. Give me wisdom to recognize Your direction and courage to follow wherever You lead.

I surrender this week to You. May everything I accomplish, every person I encounter, and every decision I make bring honor to Jesus.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
