TRUST GOD WITH WHAT YOU CANNOT CONTROL

TRUST GOD WITH WHAT YOU CANNOT CONTROL

“Release What Was Never Yours to Carry”

TODAY’S VERSE

“Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7 NASB

TODAY’S QUOTE

Faith is not having control of tomorrow. Faith is trusting the God who already holds tomorrow.

TODAY’S MESSAGE

Many of the things that exhaust us are things we were never able to control in the first place. We worry about what people think, what tomorrow will bring, whether our plans will succeed, how circumstances will change, and whether the people we love will be okay.

Planning is wise, but worrying gives us the illusion that carrying something longer will somehow give us greater control over it. God offers us something different. He invites us to cast our anxieties upon Him because He cares for us.

Surrender does not mean that we stop caring. It means we stop pretending that everything depends on us. We faithfully handle what God has entrusted to us while placing what we cannot control into His hands.

There may be something today that you desperately want God to resolve. Continue praying. Continue being responsible. Continue doing what is right. But refuse to allow fear to become your master.

You do not know everything tomorrow holds, but you know the One who will be there when tomorrow arrives.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

Write down one situation you have been trying to control. Pray specifically about it and tell God, “I will do what You have asked me to do, and I will trust You with what I cannot do.”

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. What are you currently trying to control?
  2. Why is surrender sometimes difficult?
  3. What is the difference between responsible planning and anxious worrying?
  4. How can God’s character give us confidence about an uncertain future?

TODAY’S PRAYER

Heavenly Father, You know the things I am carrying today. You know the questions I cannot answer, the circumstances I cannot change, and the outcomes I cannot control.

Forgive me for the times I have allowed worry to become greater than my trust in You. Teach me to faithfully handle my responsibilities while surrendering everything beyond my control into Your hands.

I give You my family, my future, my work, my finances, my health, my ministry, and every unanswered question. Replace my anxiety with Your peace and remind me that I am never carrying these burdens alone.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
