GOD USES INTERRUPTIONS
“When Your Plans Suddenly Change”
TODAY’S VERSE
“We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God.”
Romans 8:28 NASB
TODAY’S QUOTE
What feels like an interruption to your plan may become an appointment in God’s plan.
TODAY’S MESSAGE
Interruptions can be frustrating because they interfere with what we intended to accomplish. A phone call changes our schedule, someone suddenly needs our help, an unexpected problem appears, or circumstances force us to adjust our plans.
Yet many significant moments in Jesus’ ministry happened through what appeared to be interruptions.
People approached Him while He was traveling. Crowds interrupted His plans. The sick called for His attention. Parents brought their children. People reached for Him while He was moving toward another destination.
Jesus saw people where others might have seen inconvenience.
Sometimes God places ministry opportunities inside our interruptions. The conversation you did not plan may encourage someone who desperately needed it. The delay that frustrated you may protect you. The person who interrupted your schedule may become your opportunity to demonstrate Christlike love.
Not every interruption is divine, but every interruption is an opportunity to ask God, “How should I respond?”
Hold your plans with wisdom, but hold them loosely enough for God to redirect them.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
The next time something interrupts your schedule today, resist immediately becoming frustrated. Ask, “Lord, is there something You want me to see in this moment?”
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
- How do you normally respond to interruptions?
- Why did Jesus often make time for people who interrupted Him?
- How can interruptions reveal our priorities?
- What recent interruption might God have used for something good?
TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, forgive me for the times I become so focused on my schedule that I overlook the people You place around me.
Give me wisdom to distinguish distractions from divine opportunities. When my plans change, help me respond with patience instead of frustration.
Make me sensitive to Your Spirit. If You want to use an unexpected conversation, delay, problem, or interruption for Your purpose, give me eyes to recognize it.
May my schedule serve Your purposes rather than become more important than them.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
